Open Position - Dalton Township Administrative Assistant/Deputy Clerk

A role encompassing a large variety of tasks and responsibilities. The Clerk may also consider this position for appointment as Deputy Clerk. Job duties are listed below and include but are not limited to the following:

Admin Duties: Answering incoming calls, emails, and assisting walk-in visitors. Assist in maintaining township website including posting ordinance changes, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and meeting notices. Assist in the maintaining township social media accounts.
Administratively assist any elected officials and other office staff including the zoning, tax assessing, and building departments. (Making copies, sending mailings or building packets)

 
Deputy Clerk Duties

Election coordination: Maintaining election calendar and updates, election mailings, working the voter files. Assist in the running of elections hosted by Dalton Township.

Deputy Clerk: Assist in entering bills and invoice (accounts payable), assist in HR filings, assist with general ledger and fund balancing. Records retention and achieve.

Useful experience in the following:

  • Microsoft office and outlook
  • GIS and BS&A Software
  • Knowledge of zoning, ordinances, FOIA, and HR laws
  • Graphic creating tools such as Canva
  • Use with the Qualified Voter File

Pay: 17.50 dollars per hour.
Preferred start immediately or no later than August 8th, 2024.
